Get BJJ Leads To Show Up With This Effective Nurture Sequence

ree

You can get a million leads every month but if none of them show up, your BJJ gym won’t grow. That’s why measuring your booking and show rates each month is important for business success.

Ideally you want 70% of your booked leads to show up for their first session.

But this number is often much lower, especially if you don’t have systems in place to ensure that your leads come in.

You can try these 5 best-practices listed in this article first.

But, a combination of those plus the tactics below will help get your leads in the door so you can convert them into paying members.

Here’s how.

  1. Send A Welcome Tour Video

The first email you should sent once a new lead books is a welcome tour of your facility. This can be a low-budget video shot on your phone that’s a quick intro to you and your gym.

This video can explain where to park, how to access your school, where to go when they enter, and a brief tour of the facility.

This helps with a few things. First, it shows that you are organized, professional, and care about your business and every person who comes into it.

Second, it removes some of the uncertainty new leads have when coming into a new place.

People are naturally intimidated by fight sports, so by using a friendly tone and welcoming them with a quick video, it will ease them into a unfamiliar place when they show up.

You can film this once and automate it in your emails once the trial is booked.

  1. Use Testimonials In Your Automated Lead Nurture Sequence

People are inspired by stories and relate to others like them. Include testimonials of other new members who overcame some kind of challenge after joining your gym in your next email.

Maybe they lost weight, felt more productive at work, reduced their stress, or made a bunch of new friends.

These short stories will keep the lead engaged and interested in the time between first contact and first trial.

Bonus tip - If you know what the lead’s motivation for trying BJJ is (which you should), send them video testimonials of people who have reached similar success.

This can also be automated or scheduled via email.

  1. Send A Personalized Video The Day Before

This one takes a bit more work on your part but will go a long way in getting leads to show up.

Shoot a quick video on your phone telling the lead that you’re excited to meet them and you can’t wait to introduce them to the world of jiu-jitsu.

Then text it the day before their trial.

A simple 15-30 second video will make the lead feel like you care specifically about them, and that they are not just a number to you.

Something like “Hey Mike, this is Coach Will from Studio X, just wanted to say I’m super excited to meet you tomorrow for your first trial and introduce you to the amazing world of BJJ. It completely changed my life and I guarantee it will change yours too! Anyway, see you tomorrow at 6pm! 🤙 ”

This 30 second effort will do wonders in deepening the connection with your lead.

They will feel obligated to not only respond with a text, but by showing up to their trial.

  1. Send a Personalized Text The Day Of

Finally, send a final personalized reminder text the morning of their trial, confirming you’ll see them later that day.

Something like, “Woohoo trial day! See you at 6?”

This simple text not only acts as confirmation that they’ll show up, it keeps building the relationship with your new lead.

A mistake some BJJ gym owners make is that they forget each and every lead is a real person with emotions, a history, and needs.

Ideally, you want every person who comes into your gym to feel like they’re important and they belong.

A quick text can go a long way in deepening the relationship and getting them to come in.

Final Thoughts

These are just a few ways to keep new leads engaged so they will show up to their first trial.

Remember, you need to track your KPIs to understand where you’re losing leads in the nurture process.

If show rates are low, use the steps above to give them a lift.

The worst thing you can do is book a lead, never contact them again, and expect them to just show up.

And leads can’t become members if they never show up.

If you need help with this, book a call.
